Ran my first 800 of the year this past weekend at the adidas Track Classic. It was a bit crazy because my coach and I had planned that the race would be Sunday but instead the race had been moved to Saturday nite. I'd had a really tough workout on Thursday so racing Saturday was a bit of an uphill battle. I finished 7th but without much rest it was okay. Hey what doesn't kill you right....
I'm back in Arizona where the heat is really beginning to pick up. It's something like 102 degrees here today. Needless to say my workouts are now either early morning or in the evening once the sun has gone down.
My next race will be the Reebok Grand Prix in New York May 31st so I'll spend the next 10 days training hard and preparing for that one.
I triple checked with my manager to be certain they're not changing the dates on me for that one!!!

May 14
Training has been coming along really nicely over the past several weeks. I've been spending a great deal of time this spring at the Olympics training center with my coach Joaquim Cruz in San Diego. It's been great to be out there with him and also to have some training partners again. Trent, Jon and I had some great training sessions together.
My first 800 of the year is this Sunday at the adidas meet in Carson. I didn't race at all indoors so that I could really focus on having a great outdoor campaign. Can't wait to get it started this weekend!!!
